No other canine behavior problem causes so much concern
or attracts so much public attention as aggression to people.
Communities struggle with how to keep people safe and at
the same time allow dog owners to have their pets. Lawsuits
are often brought by people injured by dogs and people
with aggressive dogs want and need help to make their dogs
safer.
This two-session telecourse will examine the causes for
aggression to non-family members and how to identify them.
It will also address the evaluation of risk of keeping
an aggressive dog as well as treatments for the problem
including “growl classes.”
This class will be valuable for any animal professional
who deals with potentially aggressive animals including
veterinarians, veterinary technicians and other veterinary
staff members, dog trainers, behavior consultants, shelter
and rescue workers, groomers, pet sitters, pet day care
providers and boarding facility workers. Whether or not
you work with aggression problems in your business this
course will be valuable in helping you understand the nature
of aggressive dogs and how to be safe around aggressive
dogs.
When you register for the class you will receive information
about how to submit examples and questions regarding dogs
you have worked with for possible discussion in class.
We’ll be using our new presentation format which
will be webinar-like, allowing you to view PowerPoint slides
on your computer screen during class.
The course comes with class notes and recommended readings.
You will receive a link via email a couple of days before
